Hand Rejuvenation

January 29, 2010

Many men and women feel older as they watch their hands lose fullness and as their tendons and veins become more prominent. For years this issue has been nicely dealt with with the aid of fat injections, however now, a simpler, easier treatment is available. The use of filler injections such as Juvederm provides an easy way to restore your hands to a more youthful appearance. The treatment isn’t painful and shows immediate results without need for surgery. On average, most patients require 2-3 syringes of Juvederm per hand.

Multiple plastic surgeries on a young woman.

January 22, 2010

Many have been horrified by the recent publicity given to a young actress who admitted in the company of her plastic surgeon to having undergone ten hours of cosmetic surgery.  A beautiful girl who now sports DDD cup breasts thanks to implants.  I’ll be the first to say that everyone has the right to do silly things if they don’t hurt others, however the media attention and the implied acceptability of this approach is very bothersome to me.  How many young woman need that much plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons, and how many other young woman suffering from poor self-image will be led to think that the answer to their problems and lack of social/professional success lies in aggressive cosmetic change?

I can’t help but conclude that the motivation of both the patient and the surgeon lay in obtaining media attention and publicity.  To me this is unfortunate and a very bad precedent.

I’d love to read your comments.
